Petition against plans to house 300 asylum seekers in Chertsey

The proposal to use Syward place in Chertsey to house nearly 300 asylum seekers is not sensible, sustainable, or proportionate.

It would put unsustainable pressure on local infrastructure including health and education, and reduce the availability of local affordable housing.

The Home Office should withdraw the proposal and work with Runnymede Borough Council to consider alternative options as part of a sustainable and proportionate solution.
