Cllr Chris Howorth represents Virginia Water at Runnymede Borough Council and chairs the Community Services Committee. He is also a former Chairman of Runnymede & Weybridge Conservative Association.
Chris is standing for re-election in May for another term as Virginia Water's councillor.
He says: "In the last four years I have stood up for residents against inappropriate development; in particular the proposed gravel extraction in Stroude. I expanded parking provision in the village, with additional spaces in the Memorial Gardens car park, and have ensured that our green open spaces continue to receive the care and investment they deserve.
"Working closely with police, I have sought to deter crime, anti-social behaviour and speeding, as well as fly tipping.
If re-elected I pledge to continue to be a voice for our community in the Council chamber and to work closely with our Neighbourhood Forum and residents’ groups.
"I am part of a united local team with Cllrs Jonathan Hulley and David Coen and together with are committed to enhancing Virginia Water's environment; protecting the character of the village and clamping down on anti-social behaviour to ensure the best quality of life for our residents. In return for your vote on 4 May, I promise to continue to work hard for you and for our community."
Susan Shield, a local resident, describes Chris as a "hard working and diligent champion for the community" and will be voting for him in May.
