The Association has selected the Conservative candidates for the Addlestone by-elections taking place on Thursday 21st August.
Cllr Shannon Saise-Marshall is standing for Surrey County Council. She is an experienced councillor, and a former Runnymede Mayor.
Howard Freeman and Mike Kusneraitis are our candidates for Addlestone South ward at Runnymede Borough Council. Howard runs an IT business and is a keen community volunteer, and Mike was a Runnymede councillor for 16 years with considerable experience, particularly in planning.
The vacancies in Addlestone have arisen following the resignation of a councillor and the passing of our colleague Cllr John Furey last month. John represented Addlestone at Surrey County Council and was also a Borough councillor for Addlestone South. He was a fearless champion of his residents and made a huge contribution at both councils. John was a former leader of Runnymede Council and a Surrey Cabinet Member. We owe it to John and to his 25 years’ service to elect strong Conservatives to continue his legacy.
We appreciate that an election campaign in July and August is less than ideal due to holidays, but we have a strong track record of success in Addlestone and intend to run a strong campaign to defend these seats. With your help I’m sure we can succeed.
Please email us if you can help, either by delivering a few leaflets, joining us speaking to voters, or making a donation to our election fighting fund.
