Dr Ben Spencer, Conservative MP for Runnymede & Weybridge has met with South Western Railway Ltd to discuss poor performance on local train lines.
The combined impact of disruption across all networks was seen again in September, with no rail service due to major engineering works at the same time as disruption on the M25/A3 junction and countless roadworks.
Compound this with the level crossings delays regularly causing chaos and the situation really is beyond a joke.
Dr Ben said: "We are all fed up with the number of times local engineering works continue to clash... While the Government currently are unfortunately refusing to respond to the proposals in my private Members Bill calling for a legal duty to co-operate unless receives its Second reading (which due to parliamentary process will almost certainly not happen) I will continue to press for these changes."
On the issue of level crossings, Dr Ben has contacted Network Rail to obtain further details regarding the cause of disruption – Network Rail must learn from incidents and ensure where possible measures are put in place to prevent such disruption.
He continues to press for improvements in the regular operations of our level crossings - "I recently received a polite response to my suggestion to use AI to optimise timings that, at best, could be summed up as kicking it into the long grass" said Dr Ben.
He added: "I will continue to press for much more urgency to deliver solutions to the many issues which continue to cause poor service and disruption across our transport networks."
